The universe is arriving all at once.
No refuge where its infinite detail
does not bloom to fill all available surface
Not a moment’s escape from its unfolding
of enormous sky, glass, moving bodies
that have nothing to do with me.
No respite from turmoil plumes boiling up
from a center that has known no rest
except in an imagined memory,
supplied invisibly in silence.
As far as the eye can see
this is an unlocated point, suspended in unseen vacuum
forever halfway between here and there,
falling without mercy
through a groundless kaleidoscope
without reason, meaning, or end.
